Shopping List: Time to Fiesta!

Summer is full of opportunities to fiesta….AKA opportunities to wear this fun pom pom skirt from Adeline! One major opportunity to unwind after work is Adeline’s grand reopening party coming up on August 10 from 6-8pm! My favorite Dallas boutique is moving just a few doors down from its current location and will be unveiling a whole new experience and even more brands…in style, of course!

Give me all the pom poms!

Adeline is offering all guests 15% off all purchases, along with exclusive giveaways, complimentary cocktails, and braids by new local business Mermaid Braid Bar! Because what’s better than a braid to keep you cool on a 90+ degree summer day in Dallas? Not much, and I already mentioned cocktails.

Adeline grand reopening

This party also happens to be the perfect pregame for a dinner at newly opened Hudson House, also conveniently located on Lovers Lane. Lots of opportunities for pineapple-themed snaps (and a menu that’s easy to fall in love with). OR go to Chip’s and have a burger and fries. Your call!

Rose on the roof

Victory Park Victory Lap

Hunter and I lived in Downtown Dallas’ Victory Park neighborhood for three years, and have (finally) moved into our new home in North Dallas. We loved our little downtown apartment! We got engaged on its rooftop terrace, littered the floor with invitations to our wedding last September, and spent many a sunny afternoon at the pool with friends.

While I’m in love with our new home and can’t wait to post photos and progress updates, it would just be sad if I didn’t pay tribute to our Victory Park apartment beforehand! We (I) put together a list of the things we’d always wanted to do while we lived downtown, but never quite did (until last month, that is). I named it our “Victory Park Victory Lap,” as one does.

Cheese Wheel Tagliatelle

Naturally, one of the first items on the list involved going to dinner. But not just any dinner – dinner served straight from a wheel of cheese.

Four Better Beauty Brands

I recently decided to make the move over to cleaner skincare and beauty products. When it comes to what I eat, I always try to buy organic and read labels, so I figured it was time to do the same with the products I put on my skin!

New natural skincare and beauty product lines launch every day, and it can be tricky to find high performing products that are also safe, so today I’m sharing four of my favorites!

6 Things To Do Before the End of Summer ’16

You guys. I cannot believe it is almost the end of AUGUST! Summer ’16 has almost come to an end (although we are sure to be #blessed with at least a few more weeks of 100 degree temps in Texas)! In honor of all of the greatness that is summer, I’ve compiled the six things you need to put on your to-do list before the end of the season! Surprise – half of them involve food and bev.

1. Take your poolside cocktail game up a notch and whip up a batch of FROSÉ.

Because rosé is trendy AF and so is the frozen version. The Kitchn just shared one of the best recipes I’ve seen so far: watermelon mint! All you need is a magnum of rosé, watermelon cubes, sugar, water, mint, and a few lemons. Sounds like the recipe for success to me. Get the full recipe here.

Treat Yourself While You Travel: Sheet Masks

At this point, you all probably know I’m on board with the treat yo’self movement. One of my absolute favorite ways to relax is an at-home facial, mask, eye treatment, hair treatment…you name it. Thanks to my Birchbox subscription I have a steady stream of samples arriving on my doorstep on a monthly basis (dangerous).

Chicago – one of my absolute FAVORITE cities!

However, when I travel for work, the at-home options aren’t always available. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite (and for the most part, carry-on friendly) beauty treatments. This trip’s theme: sheet masks. If you follow me on Snapchat, you already know that I’m a big fan of these babies. They’re easy to execute, feel amazing, and come in enough varieties for me to spend entirely too much time perusing the aisles of Sephora. Do they look awesome on? No. But that’s okay, because you’ll get a laugh out of my sheet mask selfies too.

In this post, I’m featuring:

Oh and don’t worry, I’m including plenty of non-sheet mask pictures from the trip – including deep dish.

Give your Skin Some Love this Valentine’s Day + Giveaway from Rodan + Fields

One of my favorite things to do on Valentine’s Day (or any holiday, for that matter) is treat myself.

Spending some time lounging in a facial mask and using products that make my skin feel healthy and hydrated usually does the trick. I’m also a firm believer in the fact that the foods you eat make an impact on not only how good you feel, but how good you look. Needless to say, the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday I was looking and feeling pretty rough. This Valentine’s Day, treat yo’self and spend some time taking care of number one.

My dear friend Deanne with Rodan + Fields sent me a “Glow on the Go” mini facial kit to try out, and is offering each reader who takes the Solution Tool Quiz the same thing (plus, one lucky winner will get an eye cream!) Keep reading for my feedback on the products, more info on how to get your free mini facial, AND a skin glow smoothie recipe.

“New Year, New You” season is in full swing and gyms everywhere are rejoicing! After partaking in many a holiday indulgence, the masses will flock to fitness studios near and far to get their January workouts on.

In light of this annual tradition, I thought I’d share some of my latest fitness essentials with you. Personally, there are few things that get me pumped up about working out like fresh new gym swag.

I’ll also share the three Classpass classes I’m currently loving…because honestly gyms can and should be avoided at all costs this month, making it the perfect time to try a Classpass membership.
