Shopping List: Navy

I decided that one blue outfit on Shopping List just wouldn’t be enough to demonstrate my love for the color, so this post is completely dedicated to one of my favorite shades…navy!

I’m not ashamed to say that my favorite colors are neutrals. So to me, navy is like the spring/summer version of one of my all-time favorites, black. G and I had a ton of fun with this photo shoot, using The Grove at Harwood as a backdrop of course (P.S. The Grove was recently included in my top five prime patios for spring happy hours post! How could we resist “the flower wall?”).

Both outfits are from Adeline – so get over there and shop If you love them as much as I do!

Shopping List: Weekend Brunch

I’ve been up to something…and I’m excited to share it with you! Of course, it involves shopping.

I’m launching a new blog post series called Shopping List! Once a month or so, I’ll be sharing outfit inspiration for everything from brunches to vacations to weddings. My good friend Graeme owns Adeline over at 4412 E. Lovers Lane (talk about a match made in heaven!), and if you live in Dallas and haven’t been, you simply must check it out. I promise you won’t leave empty-handed. We’ve decided to partner up to share some of our favorite looks, and this post’s theme just so happens to revolve around one of my favorite activities, brunch!

Bonus: getting together for these photo shoots typically involves a mimosa carafe (or three) for G & I!

This outfit is all about day partying. Now it’s important to note that when I say day partying, I mean the 27-year-old version of day partying, which means eating a giant breakfast and consuming mimosas followed by some hardcore napping. More photos and outfit credits to follow!

Office Refresh: Easy Upgrades Under $100

Let’s face it, leaving your home (and warm bed) for the office can be tough sometimes. That’s why it’s important to invest in office decor that makes you happy! Whether it’s a print, a candle, a pillow, or a wine cooler (a girl can dream!) giving your office space some personality is always worth it. When things get chaotic, just retreat to your zen zone. I recently gave my office a mini upgrade, and did so without breaking the bank. Can you tell I like white? Office chic doesn’t have to mean expensive. It also doesn’t mean you need a ton of space to work with – cubes need love too!

I’ve included some of my favorite new additions below to give you a little office inspo (bonus: all of these items are under $100!)

New Year, New Gear + Classpass Favorites

“New Year, New You” season is in full swing and gyms everywhere are rejoicing! After partaking in many a holiday indulgence, the masses will flock to fitness studios near and far to get their January workouts on.

In light of this annual tradition, I thought I’d share some of my latest fitness essentials with you. Personally, there are few things that get me pumped up about working out like fresh new gym swag.

I’ll also share the three Classpass classes I’m currently loving…because honestly gyms can and should be avoided at all costs this month, making it the perfect time to try a Classpass membership.

Last Minute Holiday Stocking Stuffers

I love shopping for any reason, but this time of year allows me to really let my retail prowess shine.

The art of gift giving is multifaceted and includes many steps. To name a few:

  1. Purchase gift perfectly suited to recipient’s tastes and personality. This part is arguably the most enjoyable…feel free to snag a few items for yourself too, especially if you went to the mall because you deserve a reward.
  2. Wrap said gift in your choice of fabulous seasonal paper, ribbon, etc.  (I’m coming for you Container Store Gift Wrap Wonderland.) If your place of residence doesn’t begin to look like Santa’s Workshop during the weeks leading up to Christmas, you’re doing it wrong.
  3. Generate excitement from recipient by bringing up gift as much as possible (obviously you want the recipient to be as excited as you are that you’ve found the perfect gift for their lifestyle.) Hopefully they got you something amazing too but that really isn’t what this is all about.
  4. Pour yourself a glass of mulled wine and watch your friends and family delight at the thought, care and excellent wrapping craftsmanship you’ve put into gift giving this year.

However, when we find ourselves at this point in the holiday season, sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day to spend at the mall or elsewhere making dreams come true. That’s why I’ve compiled this handy guide of last minute holiday stocking stuffers – or should I say stocking stars…

CultureMap Holiday Pop-up Shop Favorites

Even with allergies in full effect, there’s one holiday shopping tradition in Dallas that I simply refused to miss out on.

While some enjoy the crowds at NorthPark and the Galleria (and I too will undoubtedly join the masses in crossing off the finishing touches on my Christmas list in the upcoming weeks) the CultureMap Holiday Pop-up Shop provides an ideal one stop shop for local gift giving, complete with prosecco, valet, sweet treats and a wrapping station to round out the experience.

Neighborhood, Jack Mason, Bullzerk, Celebrity Cafe & BakeryJoy Macarons and Dallas Museum of Art are just a few of the vendors that showcased their curated holiday gift selections to eager shoppers on December 6. Pictures with Santa were also available on-site, although I couldn’t convince Hunter to participate in that particular tradition (maybe next year…)

Here are just a few of my favorites:
