Rose on the roof

Victory Park Victory Lap

Hunter and I lived in Downtown Dallas’ Victory Park neighborhood for three years, and have (finally) moved into our new home in North Dallas. We loved our little downtown apartment! We got engaged on its rooftop terrace, littered the floor with invitations to our wedding last September, and spent many a sunny afternoon at the pool with friends.

While I’m in love with our new home and can’t wait to post photos and progress updates, it would just be sad if I didn’t pay tribute to our Victory Park apartment beforehand! We (I) put together a list of the things we’d always wanted to do while we lived downtown, but never quite did (until last month, that is). I named it our “Victory Park Victory Lap,” as one does.

Cheese Wheel Tagliatelle

Naturally, one of the first items on the list involved going to dinner. But not just any dinner – dinner served straight from a wheel of cheese.

Tagliatelle

1. Cheese Wheel Tagliatelle at Mercat Bistro. Once I heard about this weekly special, it was clear that it had to be part of our farewell tour. It did not disappoint. Stop by this cute Harwood bistro on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday to take advantage of this AMAZING situation.

Klyde Warren Park

2. Yoga in Klyde Warren Park. So TBH, this one was completely my idea and I had to convince Hunter to come along but he did. We took our engagement photos and our very first Christmas card photo in KWP, so of course it’s one of my favorite places to hang out (AKA dog watch). We Yogis hosted a free Thursday night yoga series before the summer heat set in this year, so we grabbed our mats and enjoyed the walk to the park and the yoga class that followed.

Perot Museum

Making my former 7-year-old self very proud with a visit to the Perot.

3. Perot Museum of Nature and Science. We’ve talked about going to the Perot Museum since we moved into the apartment! It’s literally a five minute walk. So, one particularly windy day we decided to make it happen. Of course the dinosaur exhibit was our favorite, but we also had to check out the special Mayan exhibit while we were there. Fittingly, MesoMaya is located across the street, so of course we had to work that in.

I spy T-Rex!

American Airlines Center

4. Concert at American Airlines CenterSo technically we HAVE done this before. How could we possibly not go to a Jay-Z concert down the street? But, for the sake of the Victory Lap we threw in one more – The Weeknd! We’ve been lucky to enjoy many exciting sports and music events at the AAC while living downtown so this was the perfect sendoff.

As pictured in the header photo, we had to toast to our new home with some rosé on the rooftop where spent so many fun nights with friends! We’re so excited to be in the new house and I promise decor photos are coming so soon! If you ever find yourself in Victory Park, use this list as a guide and you’re sure to have a blast.
