Water Grill

Top of the list: Water Grill

Water Grill: a restaurant so nice I went there twice (in one weekend). The seafood restaurant from California is opening its brand new Dallas location TODAY at 1920 McKinney Avenue. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of both the dinner and brunch menus last weekend and they are absolutely not to be missed.

The restaurant’s interior is cozy and nautical, and the service was wonderful. For dinner, we opted for Blue Point oysters and jumbo lump blue crab cake to start. I enjoyed Mahi on a delicious bed of vegetables, while Hunter indulged in a filet. Of course, we had to try the mac and cheese (it has my approval).

oysters

What would a seafood dinner be without oysters?

bread pudding

The Caramel Bread Pudding was heavenly!

For dessert, we split the caramel bread pudding which was absolutely delicious. We even received an extra scoop of peanut butter ice cream to end the evening on a high note.

Cut to the next morning. I’m never one to turn down brunch, so I headed back to Water Grill with friends to see what the morning menu had to offer. The verdict? So much yes. I will be returning simply for the hibiscus mimosas (get the First Class Flight). The tomato goat cheese frittata with fresh herbs and zucchini was right up my alley, and the lemon ricotta pancakes with vanilla syrup were unforgettable! We also split the seafood fritters and fresh ricotta toast with sea salt.

You can’t go wrong with fresh ricotta!

Seafood fritters

Highly recommend the Seafood Fritters…but watch out, they’re spicy!
